Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama cancels his official trip to Kuwait on upcoming July 25. The trip was meant to support Jakarta as the host for the 2018 Asian Games.

Basuki: I want Jakarta to Host 2018 Asian Games“I asked, can I just sign the statement letter (to be the host) here (in Jakarta) and not go there? They said okay. The important thing is there are statement letter and my signature, stating that I’m supporting,” he uttered.
If Jakarta was chosen as the host for the 2018 Asian Games, it will be the second time Jakarta gets the honor to hold it. The first time Jakarta hosting the Asian Games was 52 years ago in 1962.
